<p>I have been told that since Stanford has so many applicants, they look at your numbers first, (your SAT/ACT scores and rank), and throw you out if they aren't high.
Is this true? Or is there a strong chance that they will look at your entire application before throwing you out?</p>

<p>It’s called holistic admissions, so they look at everything.</p>
<p>Stanford received 37,000 applications last year. What process they use to whittle them down is anyone’s guess. </p>
<p>However, each application is reviewed by at least one person in the process. </p>
<p>There was a person back in March/April who claimed to have gotten a score of around 2000 and still got in based on her extraordinary EC. She had no chance if the above claim is correct.</p>
