Does studying for the SAT help in the ACT????

ive heard this......so this summer im starting SAT study instead of ACT.

remember the extra science section in the ACT.

Math section might, but the ACT has much more advanced concepts like trigonometry(sine, cosine, hyperbolas, ellipses, logarithms, matrices). Reading is totally different on both. ACT reading asks strictly what goes on in the passage, just like regular comprehension(it may seem easy, but 35 minutes for 40 questions requires you to remember what you read instead of going back for each question. Writing SAT is very similar to ACT English, except for the rhetorical questions.

a lot of people said they just studied a lot for SAT and then they barely studied for ACT and still got high score.

The ACT is based on what you've learned in school. The science section will assume you know what certain things are like chemical elements and reactions. That AP/BC Calculus student might get under a 700 on the SAT but get a 34+ on the Math ACT. IT is strictly based off of curriculum, and you've been studying your whole life. Though sometimes I think these people do a lot of studying and think that it wasn't enough so they consider it studying very little. I studied 1-2 hours for 5 days at my bookstore, and that definitely wasn't enough, and if I get a 32, then I can't say I took it cold, but people want to believe that they got a good score when they didn't study.

I think it does not help that much from what i hear SAT=intelligence test and ACT=school-learned.

From what I heard, so I may be wrong- I don't know jack about standardized tests.

so shud i dedicate june and july to SAT prep this summer and then august to ACT prep so im prepped for both before my junior year starts since i know im gonna have no time next year.

it was the opposite for me. I think getting used to the time pressure on the ACT made the SAT much easier. After taking the ACT two times, I finished each section on the SAT with 5-10 min left. On my PSAT before I began prepping for the ACT, I was rushing like mad on each section.

Perhaps it just helped with timing
