Does success in high school and college= success in life?

For example, would the valedictorian in your high school have success in life overall, or would be the kid who could never quite get the grades but worked very hard?? It seems on CC high school success is seemed to be paramount to all other aspects of life, or is it just me?

Any comments would be appreciated.

This will generate a lot of different answers. I think deep inside you have your personal opinion about the matter, as so does everyone. IMO, professional life is guided by the environment’s opportunities and the person’s wisdom to notice them. In school, you have a fixed paradigm to be successful: do well on tests. In “real life”, you simply won’t be given the way to success. That’s where social skills join the process.

Can a good school career indicate a promising job career? Yes, but not always. Although related, these two notions are not strictly tied to each other.

Very Insightful sandro, any other opinions

I agree with Sandro, success in school doesn’t necessarily mean success in life just as failure in school doesn’t mean failure in life. One of my former MBA professors once noted that a great number of company CEOS were “C” students. That said, a successful school life does open doors but it is up to you to decide which doors to open and which doors to go through. Some choices that make a difference in your success in life have nothing to do with school… such as deciding who you marry.
