Just visited for the first time with my rising high school senior. I’m curious about the summer admit program…if my son starts Freshman year during the summer session will he stay in the same dorm room for the fall semester or does he have to move out and then move into a new dorm? (We’re out if state so this would be a pain)
Yes it’s a different room. However, I believe students may store their belongings for the week or so gap. In some cases, they can even move items into their rooms and put boxes only on the bed. PSU doesn’t expect you to fly everything home and then back again.
On a side note, summer LEAP was the best decision we ever made. Search for the topic and you’ll read lots of rave reviews about how it benefits the student.
There’s a 2 week break between summer and fall this year. They can store their belongings in their fall dorm. My best advice is if your kid is accepted for summer, put your deposit down ASAP to be almost guaranteed a renovated dorm with a/c. With a week left of summer session, my son said it was the best decision ever. Loves it.
