Im in the military and trying to take some classes online, but since its so close to the start of the fall semester a lot of the classes that i want online are full and the others that i need can only be done on campus and thats not attainable at the moment. i was wondering if i got into like 2 online classes (i would be considered part time because its only like 6 units for both classes), would that look bad and decrease my chances of transferring to cornell? even if i got A’s in them both?
thank you
No, not necessarily. In evaluating transfer students, admissions is usually looking at your likelihood of success at Cornell and will consider your entire record to make a determination. There are many reasons that students attend part-time; being in the military is certainly a valid reason and would show your ability to juggle various demands.
On another note, make sure the school through which you are taking the online classes is accredited. There are some online schools out there that are not particularly respected, and if not accredited, the credits will not transfer.
