Does taking study hall look bad?

This is my senior schedule:

AP Literature
AP (Comparative gov. + US gov. combined into one class)
AP Physics C
AP Calculus BC
AP European History
French 4
study hall

Does this senior schedule look decent?

It’s a plenty sttrong schedule, your solid

if there’s really nothing else to put there, aka the “most rigorous schedule”, then you’re good. but this looks good either way.

My senior year schedule was 5 APs, a CP class (because its AP version didn’t exist until this year), gym, and a study hall, so you should be fine.

I didn’t even use study hall to study really, except for a handful of times. Most of it was my study hall buddies and me playing cards (maybe bring a pack, those kept me entertained in senior year). :D

No I think you’re fine! That looks like a good schedule to me!

At my school study hall was required lol. I was in my schools gifted program which took the place of study hall but I’m sure it’s no big deal

Look at it this way. Study Hall will never help you. It may hurt you, it may not. It certainly won’t be a primary factor but you should of course try to fill your schedule with something else.

I know some people took it and still got in, but you don’t want to pass up an opportunity to increase your chances. Of course taking a nice elective, even if its fairly easy, is going to be look better than Study Hall.

I realize your schedule is excellent otherwise and I don’t know what classes your school offers, so perhaps you’ve taken them all and this doesn’t apply to you. I was in APs Senior year as well but took an elective and it was really easy especially in the shadow of an AP class.

I wouldn’t be that dramatic about it, I’m sure that college admissions people understand that with a schedule containing 5 APs, etc. you might need a break in your day. I dropped an honors course for mine, and though it might’ve looked better on a transcript, I guarantee you that the people in that class didn’t learn much anyway (you could just tell by the teacher, hence why I dropped it). Having the study gave me something to look forward to, allowed me studying/homework time if I needed it (my study was in the afternoon so I could only study for like one class, if it had been in the morning I’m sure I would’ve utilized it more for that purpose).

All I’m saying is don’t feel pressured to take another class with that kind of schedule.

If you have more study halls than classes senior year, it’ll look bad. One or two will never hurt you.

You are fine.
