Does taking the ACT help me AT ALL?

My SAT score is 2330, but I honestly think it’s an incredibly stupid & fake test. I studied for about 1 month and I remember just how pointless it seemed. By contrast, I actually had a bit of fun when I took a practice ACT last week (and got a 30). If I was an admissions officer, I know I would prefer the ACT. Anyhow, it seems logical that taking both would prove my performance on the SAT was not a result of luck or years of studying or such but I don’t have any information about this.

Most sources sat that they are viewed equally, but is there absolutely any advantage anywhere to taking both(and getting a similar score(35)?

There is no advantage to taking both tests unless you will do better on one over the other. Since you apparently already do better on the SAT don’t waste your time. Schools will take the higher score. Sending a “validating score” means nothing.

what @“Erin’s Dad” said. There are better ways to stand out to an AdComm, which are a better use of your time than taking practice standardized tests

Take SAT subject tests instead. That will help in some schools.

Admissions do not favor either test so there would be no point in taking the ACT because your SAT is awesome. If you are worried about college admissions, you could spend your time bettering other parts of your application. If you are taking the ACT for fun, go for it and if you do not like your score you don’t have to send it.
