Does taking the PSAT really matter?

<p>I'm pretty much veteran at SAT taking. I've taken it once in 7th grade and twice in 9th grade. I will take it again this year (11th grade). </p>

<p>However, my parents want me to take the PSATs first. I keep wondering what the point is. Is this scholarship stuff valuable or bogus? </p>

<p>Say I score around 230, will that actually help me pay for college? (If you need to know, my family's income is around 75k)</p>

<p>It may get you an honor to put on your application. It also give you free ride to many schools and big scholarships for otger schools.</p>
