Does TASS only pertain to African studies?

If I'm interested in Journalism/English/Medicine... would this even be remotely helpful? I'm not black, by the way.

[Telluride Association: Our Programs: For High School Students: Sophomore Seminar (TASS): Past Topics & Faculty](http://www.tellurideassociation.org/programs/high_school_students/tass/tass_past_topics.html)

This is a list of past topics. Some of them are essentially focused on African American studies, but many others (I would say most) are focused on some broader issue (such as medicine, drama, or journalism) from an African American perspective. I would wait until this year’s topics come out before making a judgment about it.

The program doesn’t just focus on African Americans. I went to the University of Michigan TASS and we studied Hispanics and Asians in addition to African Americans. You don’t have to be black to go either. Though the majority of the kids are black, if you aren’t black you’ll fit in just fine. I think it would be helpful if you want to go into journalism or English to go to TASS. My writing improved a lot just from attending.
