Ok. so I'm going to be a senior this fall and have done varsity tennis since 9th grade and I've won several awards. Some people have told me that the amount of tennis i've done will be a big factor for admissions and others say it won't matter at all.so...i want more opinion please.

Contact coaches at the schools you’re interested in. Your current coach should know if you’re recruitable. It is a hook if you are recruited–a big boost and just aa nice EC if you’re not.

Getting recruited for tennis is TOUGH. I mean - it is probably one of the toughest sports to be recruited. My track buddy’s brother - number one in Hawaii - was recruited to UW for tennis. But he’s basically bench - barely recruited.

It will help on your admissions, but if you’re not recruited it cannot be a crutch

I have to agree with what Samsunimomo said. My friends are very, very great golfers, and many were agitated during late Spring because some of them weren’t signed on yet. Luckily, they were signed on April, but I suppose that’s still late.

And if memory serves correctly, most of our athlete scholars signed their letters of intent on September, after having the summer to mull about it.

I, on the other hand, am totally inept in any type of physical sport. Sorry!

lol. thanks guys. i guess tennis can still be a nice ec for me. and contatcing some soaches can never hurt sill, even if they’re done recruiting.
