does the ACT drastically affect your overall application?

i am concerned with my chances on getting into UF. i have taken the ACT four different times, with my highest composite score being a 26 [ i'm not good at taking standardized tests].

i have an unweighted 4.0 GPA and a weighted GPA of 4.48 - ish calculated UF style. i've taken 2 AP classes [ both passed] and 3 more this year as a senior. extra curriculars involve ballet, lyrical, jazz, hip hop, stretch leaps and turns twice a week, youth group, church activities, gymnastics, NHS, heath occupation students of america, french club [ and 3 years of french class in school], chamber choir, pride showchoir, centre stage choir with varying awards. i also have a long list of awards, achievements, and community service projects.

basically, will my ACT score of 26 bring down my overall application?

thanks for your feedback! :]

Are you in-state or out-of-state? That could make all the difference in your chances. You’re ACT will weight you down some… and I feel your pain, because mine is about the same. But you’re high GPA will help you. I think like 85% of applicants with a GPA above 4.0 got in, so that will be to your advantage

I can’t really give you a chance, because I’m applying to UF myself, and acceptance there seems kind of random. Basically, your ACT is below average, but it’s not super-low. And your GPA is above average… you can infer from that what you want. Anyway, good luck. I hope you get in!!!

Oh… have you taken the SAT?

i’m in state, and i took my sat once and it wasn’t good at all.
