I know that if you take the SAT/ACT more than once, then it's immoral to not send in all your scores; however, say you just took the ACT once and only once to see how you did, do you have to send the score in to colleges?

Majority of schools allow you to provide whatever tests you want to provide and it is in no way immoral or wrong with those colleges to withhold tests. Others have an “all scores” policy requiring you to send all scores. However, that policy varies among the colleges that require all scores in that some require both all SAT and all ACT scores, some require either all SAT or all ACT scores but not both (in other words, you can choose which set to send), some require all SAT scores but if you choose instead to submit ACT you need send only one. To determine each college’s policy you need to go on-line to its site and find it; its in the admissions pages and usually you can easily find it by doing a search for: sat act tests

Thanks
