I am applying to multiple schools that use the common app, and one school that doesn't.

First question: Does the common app use their own system? Or do they borrow the letter of recommendation system from an independent organization?

Second: Can I send letters through the mail? I can't find a printable version on their website.

Third: For the schools that don't use the common app, do I have to ask my teachers to fill out a second letter for a different school? Or will that school accept any letter?

Commonapp does have their own system for doing it, and you could also send letters in the mail if you and your recommenders feel that that is the better option.

I would also like to hear the answer for the third question, since I’m not quite sure how to go about recs for non-commonapp schools :)

Assuming your school does not use Naviance:

When you create your common app account you’ll see a section where you invite recommenders. As soon as you do that, the recommender will get an email from the common app. You no longer print a form, even if the recommender will be submitting by regular mail. If the recommender prefers to send the recommendations by snail mail rather than uploading to the common app, the email will explain how that process works. If the recommender chooses to submit electronically, he or she can upload a recommendation for you to the common app system. This can be the exact same letter the recommender prints and mails to schools that do not use the common app along with the simple recommendation form most non-common-app schools provide that asks for basic identifying information.
