Does the date of the Orientation matter?

I put in my deposit in to UCF and now i have to pick a day for Orientation. I just wanted to know if during or right after the orientation is when we choose our classes or do they not have any correlation between the two. Also if so, does picking an early orientation give you a better chance at getting your first picks at classes?

You pick classes during the 2nd day of orientation.

Moreover, the earlier your orientation is, the more likely you are to get a class/time you want. That’s why honors orientation tends to be first. However, all the people currently enrolled at UCF will have picked their classes (or should have) by the time you get to orientation.

So yes, you should try to pick an early orientation date. Also, many people drop and add classes during the summer and up to the first week of class until add/drop ends, so even if you don’t get a class you want, it may open up. (I refreshed the page every 10 minutes for almost a day to get into a full honors Physics class, and finally a spot opened.)

do your parents have to show up to orientation? or can you go by yourself

No. There’s a parent thing they do, but they don’t have to go through it.
