my hs is one of the top 5 public hs in CA
api: 914
AVG. SAT: higher this year, this is for 2003) 1272
our valedictorian is usually 4.5/4.6
we offer around 9 APs but you can't take any until junior year
we count +/-

yeah, this probably can't stack up against east coast schools, but what i'm saying is, a B or even a C in one of our AP or even regular classes would probably be an A in any other school. but instead of people get lower scores, they work like maniacs to get A's. i'm not a genius in math, so my gpa is kind of low, 3.7 uw/4.0 w and i'm ranked 117/340 ish people.

since colleges get a profile of your hs, will a 3.7 at my hs count more than some oher hs?

Or Mission San Jose? Oh wait your class size is smaller. Never mind then. But you asked a question I've been wanting to know the answer to myself.

yea i live in orange county and attend 4th best public high school in california. I talked to my counselor and he said schools take into consideration the level of competitiveness of the high school and how everythng relates to that.

Well, our school claims to not rank, but I bet they do behind the doors, with the college admissions ppl. Oh well, I suppose ignorance is bliss; I have no clue where I stand in relation to other people in my class; I just know that I suck. :P

Oooh, Orange County people! I bet some of the people here go to Troy. :\ I go to Sunny Hills myself, a once prestigious public school gone crappy, thanks to our lovely ***** of a principal.

yeah, i don't know why we're always ranked like the 49th state or w/e since i always hear of mv, lynn, and yes, toga. maybe there's like pockets of good schools and the rest are crappy.
