Does the major of your b.a. matter?

<p>Sure, as long as you perform acceptably in the coursework necessary for admission.</p>

<p>Certainly, first, as LAGator said, make sure you have a good poli. sci. background undergrad but also both history and philosophy can overlap with or be applied to political science. It would be a different question if you wanted to major in physics and do grad work in poli. sci.</p>

<p>Some departments might be wary of you if you have no poli sci coursework under your belt, but I doubt that it would be an insurmountable issue.</p>

<p>But if you want a PhD in poli sci, why not the BA?</p>
