I'm just wondering if your admission is affected at all by the major that you put on your application. I know for some colleges it does matter, but I'm not sure about the UW.

Any answers??

Thanks

No, it is not. However, if you indicate that your first choice major is an Engineering (pretty much anything, from Bioengineering to Computer engineering) or Business major, if you have good stats you might be able to gain early to the major, which can be advantageous in terms of research as well as classes you can get priority registration for as a major.

do you think economics would fit into that category?

No, the Economics major is not in the college of business, and is ineligible for the priority thing.

and economics goes on a whole different route. If you're not accepted, just concentrate on destroying the area of knowledge and boost your GPA from there.
