Does the Number of Credits Taken per Semester Matter?

Do adcoms care about how many number of courses or credits you take per semester? Do they hate it when you take less than a certain number of credits per semester? Can that have a bad effect on your admission?
Going into second year, I'm wondering if I should increase the usual number of credits I take per semester, between 9~12, to something higher like 15.
Thanks.

Take what is considered normal for your school. I don't know how credits work at your school but 9 credits would make you a part-time student at mine.

9-12 credits would not be enough for a full time student at my school either. I thought 15 was average at most places.

At my school, anything above or equal to 9 is considered full time. The maximum number of credits my school allows its students to take is 18.

The question isn't really full vs. part-time status. NCG was saying that to make a point (that nine sounded very low).

Don't be below normal at your school, whatever that is.
