Does the order in which applications are reviewed in RD matter?

At a regular RD system in a college, does it matter if your application is evaluated before or after others?

I mean, they have regional quotas right? So what if my region has already been filled, but I'm better than the last few candidates?

I ask this because everything in my CMU application was on track, but they lost my transcript, so it got completed when I sent it in, relatively later than others.

How much will this be a factor?

I think it matters a lot. But it’s all luck.

Say the Adcom reviews your application right after 3 crappy applications- yours looks better and it could be beneficial.

Say you get seen after 2 superstar val’s with 3 varsity sports and Intel… bad.

Anything is just speculative and you can’t affect it anyways. Try to relax and be patient. I know it’s hard. Good luck to you

yeah, that’s true, but does the order matter? for example if someone sends his/her application on the 20th of Dec and someone on the 31st, is there any guarantee that the apps that come first are read before the ones that arrive just before the deadline or do they mix them up?

^for some schools like harvard they read the apps as they come in…some other schools wait until the deadline has past to begin reading the apps in no specific order so it probably depends on the school.

We don’t know… and no one knows… just relax and stop thinking about it. I sent my Yale app a day before EA deadline…
