Is it ok if I send my recs. before I send in my application? Or send in my ACT scores before my application?

It doesn't matter ..... .....

it does matter...at least with the colleges i talked to they will throw away your recommendation if they are sent first.. they want to recieve your app or your transcript (including all the stuff your school sends) first before your recommondations come. (this came from head of admins at 6colleges)

^What really?! Can someone else verify this? Or at least tell us the names of the 6 colleges? somehow it doesn't sound right.

Not true. I checked with admissions people at multiple schools, ALL of whom said it didn't matter.

^that's what i thought. if not, i'm like totally screwed. all my EA recs and scores are in but I haven't started any of the actual apps yet.

Many if not most students send their test scores first because of the four free score reports you get when you take the SAT. Scores can arrive at colleges 6 months or more before an app arrivies. Both my kids had almost everything in before they sent in their apps. No problem.

Bloomsm301, could you please post the six colleges where you were told this by the head of admissions? It would be a tremendous service to any students applying to those schools to have this information, and especially to be able to verify it for themselves.

In the meantime, no one else should worry a bit about this!
