Does the SAT help with the GRE?

I am wondering if a student who scored 2400 on his SAT exam will do better on the GRE exam than someone who scored lower than him by, say, 200 points. And I mean sitting the GRE right after you sit the SAT, not four years later.

Thoughts?

I don’t know much about the GRE but I can tell you the following: it’s a computer based exam, and that means you have to answer the questions in order and you can’t go back. The reading section is supposed to be harder than CR on SAT (think all level 5 questions and only the hardest passages you’ve ever come across from any SAT, real or practice) and the quantitative section contains only high school math but again, the level of thinking and logical reasoning skills is very high. And there is an essay, which I don’t anything about.

CR and W are supposed to be a bit harder, but M is supposed to be a lot easier
