Does the TAG for UC still work if I leave UCI after my freshman year and do one year at CC?

Then try to transfer to a different UC? If I only apply at one UC and I have the qualifying criteria, should I get my choice UC? Thank you!

Six University of California (UC) campuses offer guaranteed admission to students from all California community colleges (CCC). Interested students must meet campus-specific requirements to qualify for a UC TAG. By participating in a TAG program, students can ensure their admission to a specific UC campus. Also, some campuses may offer an early review of a students’ academic record and specific guidance on major preparation and general education coursework.

Who can file a TAG?
Only students transferring directly from a California community college (CCC) are considered for a TAG, including international students (those with a visa).
A CCC transfer student is one who has completed at least 30 semester (45 quarter) UC-transferable units at one or more California community colleges. The last college the student attended in a regular session (fall/spring or fall/winter/spring) before admission to a UC campus must be a California community college.

You can only TAG to one campus and if you meet all the TAG requirements then you will be accepted to that campus. Most transfer students also apply to a few other schools just in case. I would just start at a CC instead of attending UCI if you already want to transfer.

Yes, you can transfer out of a UC and TAG another UC. You just need at least 30 semester units at the CCC by your final spring term and that last year needs to be only at the CCC.

It was already answered here. If you (@RyRy2k) have more questions please address them in this thread. Thx. ?

you won’t be able to TAG to the campus you previously attended (UCI). And you won’t be able to TAG to Davis because they require you to attend a CCC starting spring of the school year before you apply, not just one full year.

@mikemac is correct. Davis is out. :slightly_frowning_face:
