<p>since it seems like SAT and ACT are so intrinsically linked to the college application process, I’m wondering what kind of people don’t submit them… and whether those people actually get in.</p>
<p>They just look much more carefully at one’s other data. Bowdoin is very competitive, acceptances in RD last year were only around 10-11% per conversations with the admissions staff once it was over last April. Also the SAT stats on the Bowdoin site are for all students accepted- you have to give them your numbers anyway AFTER you have accepted their offer.</p>
<p>if you submit, treat your standardized test scores as if they weren’t optional at bowdoin. it’s not like they DON’T care about them if you’ve submitted them.</p>
