Does the type of internship matter?

I don't know what I want to major in yet, leaning towards business/finance, law, or corporate law. I'm trying to get an internship for this summer. I can get an internship working for either the Democratic or Republican party fairly easily, but I don't think I will major in pol/sci so would it be better to have a different type of internship more fitting to my major, or is all that matters that I took advantage of my summer?

Here in New York City, it’s almost impossible for high school students to get internships, as most internships (paid and unpaid) go to rising junior and seniors in college. So, if you are offered an internship – take it – no matter what field it is in, as it will enhance your life skills and your resume.

thanks!
