Does the UC school system require Non custodial parent info?

Hi CC. I was wondering how the UC’s calculate their FA. I was wondering if they use the non custodial parent info for students with divorced parents. If this is on a school by school basis, then what is the situation for Berkley and UCLA? Thanks!

If Berkley and UCLA require the non custodial parent’s income/info, then what are some selective schools that don’t require that info?

Any school’s FA web page will tell you what kind of information they require to qualify for financial aid.

Fill out the FAFSA for federal loans and grants.

Are you a nonresident of California? Most of the need-based aid comes from the State of California, for its residents, through CalGrants.

These are public universities, and are meant to be affordable for residents. The tuition is the same across the UC’s. What’s not the same are fees and room/board. They don’t have the funds to provide “financial aid” to non-residents.

If you are a nonresident, you will pay full fees.

“Berkeley” is spelled in this manner.

Thanks for the info. Sorry about the spelling of Berkeley.
