Does Theatre Arts at USC Allow You To Be In a Production?

I'm in community college and need to only fulfill 2 of the following: the Diversity portion, Part 3 and part 5. I'm interested in taking Theater Arts but am not sure whether i should take it here at community college or do it at USC once i get accepted...do the theater arts classes allow you to be in a production?

I;ve been acting for years now but am majoring in poli sci. Thanks!

The majority of productions (main stage anyways) are only open to theatre majors (and most of those are just for BFA majors, some aren't even open to the BA students). I think some productions are open to BA's and minors so maybe you should think about minoring in theatre. I know there are some shows that anyone can do but they are usually smaller ones. Still, there are ALWAYS student films and Trojan Vision shows casting if you're into that kind of thing too. :-)

Maybe it's urban legend, but I heard that there was a mainstage musical production a few years ago where someone who majored in something quite different from theatre, like aerodynamics or something scientific, got a lead.
