Does this conflict with SCEA?

I am applying to the College of St. Benedict -- a small private college in MN. They have rolling admissions, but you can apply by an early deadline (Dec. 1st) in order to get priority consideration for scholarship awards. I could use the scholarship money, so I want to apply early, but I'm not sure if this breaks my SCEA agreement with Yale.

This is what the St. Ben's admissions website says:
“Admission and scholarship decisions will be mailed by December 20 to students who have completed applications by December 1. Students applying after December 1 will be notified of the admission and scholarship decision on a rolling basis beginning January 15.” (The decision is non-binding)

I emailed my region's admissions officer at Yale to ask him if it was okay, and he said: "If its rolling admissions at this private college, then by all means it will be fine" I don't know how to interpert his answer, because I don't know if St. Ben's still constitutes "rolling admissions" (since it has an early deadline).

Is it safe to say that I wouldn't be breaking the SCEA agreement by applying to St. Ben's before Dec. 1st?

I would messege the school to get a report, and then forward it to your Yale admission officer.

huh? I'm not sure what you mean HVSahin.

bump. any more advice? thanks!

I think it should be fine. Technically, it still constitutes a rolling decision, right? It's not ED or EA...

their website states:

December 1 Early Action application date for scholarships. Scholarship decisions will be mailed by December 20 to students who have completed applications by December 1.

Students applying after December 1 will be notified of the admission and scholarship decision on a rolling basis beginning January 15.

Yes it is a conflict, you would be breaking your Yale SCEA as Yale specifically
states:

* Yale’s early plan is unlike standard Early Action programs in that you may not apply Early Action or Early Decision to any other school. ** Put another way, students who are candidates for another college’s Early Action or Early Decision program may not apply for Single-Choice Early Action at Yale.) **

If you apply early to Yale, you will be asked to sign the Single-Choice Early Action Agreement on page 1 of the Supplement stating that you intend to
file only the one Yale early application.*
