Does this count as a hook?

<p>I plan on applying to the University of Rochester RD for their premed program </p>

<p>I was born in the University of Rochester Medical Center and my dad used to work in the Chemistry department as a postdoctor 17 years ago. Does that count as a hook? Or am I just a regular applicant? </p>

<p>Should I try to mention this somewhere on my app?</p>

<p>No. A hook is something that brings prestige or money to the school. Children of grad students and (past) employees are not generally considered legacies.</p>
