Does this count as a misdemeanor?

In 8th grade, I whacked a classmate on the arm out of careless impulse.
I'm not usually a violent person; I'm actually pretty quiet. I did the deed out of anger because this girl had been ruining my life for quite a while; I'm not one to exaggerate. :(

This is how the incident happened:

I walked into a room with just her and two of her friends. As I opened the door, I heard her talking about me and her friends were both snickering.
Once they saw me, I confronted them; I asked one of her friends how she could let this be. I kind of lost it.
By then, I was crying pretty hard; I forgot all my morals and principles completely. :o

**
In the end, I only got two days in the office; I did NOT get suspended.

I'm wondering, does that in any way result in a check mark and an explanatory note to answer the question: "Has the applicant/Have you ever committed a misdemeanor, felony or crime?"
In other words, does what I've done in MIDDLE SCHOOL have ANY affect on college admissions? No matter how extreme the degree?
Also, would you predict that my guidance counselor place a check mark in the yes box?
How likely is it that even if she knew, she'd check the no box?
Or is it only meant for just high school misdeeds etc.? :o

Thanks to the ones that take the time to answer.

what you did isn’t a misdemeanor. you weren’t even arrested for it. plus it happened in 8th grade, which shouldn’t affect your college admissions. i doubt that the guidance counselor would check the yes box, since it was a small offense in middle school and not during high school.

a misdemeanor is a legal term for a “lesser” crime. this isn’t a misdemeanor, there was no legal action… this is such a typical cc question hahahaha

haha lol
this is funny

rofl no…

YES IT IS!!! Because of that, you cannot apply to any school. You are considered a menace to society and the police have been/are/will be tracking your every move. Sorry, but your violence streak has ruined your life forever.

JK.

Hahaha sounds like you get that girl her just desserts. I like you, and no, that not something to mention on your common app.

Ohh. Aha, I just thought a “misdemeanor” was related to an “offense”, which is related to a “misdeed”, which isn’t even a crime at all, more of a sin.
