So I have been attending this sort of religious class for about 6 years. Its where we read the quran and learn about islam. It is taught by a teacher and the one i attend consists of like 5 other students. This class is informal meaning that it does not have transcripts or grades and we pay the teacher by cash/check. So does this count as an extra curricular activity.

Yes, out of school activities count as ECs. Agree that you should figure out how to phrase it (Religious Education, Religious study?)
^^^^Only include the years you have attended while in HS. Don’t include middle school ECs on a college application.
