I have grandparents who attended both Havard and Yale.
Would this put me in the legacy pool of applicants?

Not at Harvard. Legacy there is only if one of your parents attended Harvard as an undergrad.

But this legacy would be legit at Yale? Would an uncle count as legacy as well?
I'm guessing if I apply SCEA, would I stand a better chance for admission?

do you really need legacy status that much? lots of people get in without that advantage.

yeah, but far more people don't get in it all. At schools like Harvard and Yale any little bit helps.

^ True.....

Sorry! i havent posted here in a long time. How important are legacy factors in admissions?

I was under the impression they count about as much as URM or 1st generation college at some schools but at some like MIT it's not considered at all.

But at Harvard and Yale, they both under my impressions take it strongly into consideration. I wish it wasn't a factor, but such is life...
