I think the term is... "under the radar" visits? And I know that NEU likes people to show interest.
I live within 20min of NEU and my father has been teaching there for a while.

Granted, I don't always go to NEU, but I've gone with them "to work" now and then and I like the school very much. I've explored the campus a bit, talked to random students here and there, eaten at the cafes, etc. However, I've never actually truly made any "official" visits on the campus (why join a tour when your good ol' dad can give you a tour himself and show you all the best spots on campus?)

I also heard from him that NEU tends to reject people who seem to be applying to NEU as only a "safety" school, to keep their acceptance rate low (yuck!)

However, when I apply (currently a rising junior), NEU will indeed be the "safety school" on my list (I'll be applying to a lot of the top 40 colleges) and everyone tells me that NEU is definitely my safety school.

However, I really like the school and I would seriously weigh it against other "better" schools that I might be accepted to.

I already know the campus and I think a tour would just be a waste of my time, and I already know quite a bit about NEU already. But should I be worried that I don't have any official visits under my belt? Should I start racking up campus tours, going to rep meetings, etc?

EDIT: He also told me that if I was to attend NEU while he was still teaching, I would get a full ride because of that. The FA would definitely be something for me to highly weigh against other colleges who might not give us much FA -- I'd really like to graduate debt free.
