Does this e-mail mean anything good/bad?

Hi CC!

I got an e-mail from the PFA office recently after applying SCEA with this body:

"We received your 2015-16 Princeton Financial Aid Application, however, we have not yet received a copy of your parents’ 2013 tax return and W-2 Statements.

Please fax (609-258-0336) or email (pfaa@princeton.edu) a copy of these forms to our office as soon as possible."

I googled it and it didn't turn up any results, which I guess could suggest it was non-automated. Also, the application never specified sending these docs in, if I recall correctly. It's sent from the official financial aid e-mail address as well, so I doubt it's fraudulent or anything. I know people have posted in the past about e-mails for missing PFAA's, which I submitted ahead of the Nov. 15th deadline. My parents and I have never heard of a school asking for these specific documents before admissions decisions came out, though. However, I found this online and assume it's something sent with the admissions decision: https://www.princeton.edu/pr/aid/pdf/1314/S1040.pdf

Has anyone else received this e-mail? Is this just a step that I neglected to notice or could this possibly mean something good?

Thanks,
Yet Another Anxious SCEA Applicant

Several of us got this. You should fax or email them the tax forms.

@18Dylan18‌ Okay, good to know, I appreciate the heads-up. I just found that link online and got a bit overzealous! Good luck!

Princeton made it very clear that the tax forms are part of your application, so I wouldn’t take the email as an omen. That being said, did any international applicants who neglected to submit the tax forms receive the same email? I didn’t receive one even though mine was missing.
