Does this effect my chances at UCLA/CAL/UCSD?

Hey guys, I'm a Bio major (impacted everywhere) applying to ucsd/cal/ucla, 2 of the prereqs are to complete Calc 1 and Calc 2. I complted calc 1 over the winter, and currently have calc 2 in progress. Does this affect my application? not having prereqs done by time of application period? I also have a 3.9 gpa, and tap.

The short answer: NO, spring is fine!

^^
Agree. Spring is fine.

even though they won’t even see my calc 1 grades?

It will have an effect since they cant see your grades… how many other pre-reqs can they not see grades for?

Remember UCLA wants at min…
1 yr gen chem
1 sem ochem
1 yr Calc
1 yr Bio

they have the grades for Bio, and 1 qaurter of chem, the rest are all in progress lol :/

Lol. So your GPA is mainly GEs then?

my gpa is GE’s/IGETC 2 biology classes, precalc, prepchem,/ english

haha

Fall 2009

Spring 2011

lols :/

^^ Like I said earlier, “technically speaking” you should be fine, but you might be at a slight disadvantage because they cannot evaluate you on most pre-req courses (I was told by a UCLA rep not to keep too many pre-req courses - not more than two - for the last semester, as it puts you at a bit of a disadvantage when they evaluate you).

However, since your gpa is very good, you’ll probably be OK (but also keep in mind that bio is heavily impacted and there are no guarantees anyways when it comes to UCLA and Berkeley)

Yep I heard that as well

bro I’ve been thinking a lot about your original question and I’ve come to a conclusion.

You’re more than likely not going to get accepted to any of those three schools. I hope you applied to UC Riverside and UC Merced as backups?

Good luck on your educational goals in 2011 broseph.

Whats your reasoning to get to that conclusion?
