As I am still finalizing all of the financial aid information, Emory has been very diligent in contacting me about my files. I have received numerous emails and even an automated phone call. However, recently, I got an email that says the following:

This email is a reminder that you currently have outstanding items that affect your financial aid status for the 2010-2011 award year. We need additional information before your award can be finalized or disbursed. Outstanding items may delay your aid award or loan disbursement. Your application will be reviewed after all required documents have been received. Your file must be complete before an accurate financial aid award can be determined and disbursed. Documents received after published due dates may negatively impact institutional grant eligibility.

Some of the words in this email seem to imply that I could have got in. They say they need additional information before my award can be finalized or disbursed. Also, they mention that the financial aid file must be complete before an accurate award can be determined and disbursed. If I had been rejected from the school, would Emory still be persistent in following up on my outstanding financial aid items? Some people may say here that they easily send out the email to every student, but if I had been rejected, would they still send it to me as there would be no reason to? Tell me what everyone believes about this situation. Thanks and good luck to other Emory applicants!

Hey! I got the same email numerous times! (but, sadly, not the automated phone call-- I don’t think-- maybe it’s because I live on the west coast?) haha I never thought of it that way, but I really do hope it means I got in

Another thing to add, though; after getting these emails, I emailed them back stating that my financial aid documents were going to be received past the March 1st deadline because of mail problems (apparently everything that is received after this date is considered late), and if it was okay if it was received later, and they said I can still turn everything in if I still wanted to apply for financial aid (which I most definitely do)!

I don’t know if Emory is super strict on their deadlines, which, if they are, means that hopefully I was accepted already and that my financial aid stuff is still required because they still want me :)

If anyone can answer this question about Emory and the strictness of their deadlines, that would be fantastic.

They are pretty lenient with deadlines, I submitted the wrong essay and they let me email them a correction past the deadline.

I have also been getting these emails, but I checked that I wasn’t applying for finaid on the Common Application. Oh well, we shall see. I am hopeful/decently confident that I’ll get in (the only thing that is stressing me out is that I ordered my ECs on the CA wrong, haha), but I guess we’ll all have to wait and see.

Also don’t think this is a good sign or a bad sign.

guys they dont mean anything. i talked to the financial office the other day, they told me admissions does not notify them of anything nor can they see decisions/stats…nothing
