Does this Fin Aid Calculation sound correct?

Income is 32K(Adjusted Gross Income is 29008), no assets, property, stock. Family of 3.

Here's what the calculator said:
Parents' Contribution $6,200 - $7,200
Student's Expected Summer Savings 1,730
Student's Asset Contribution 0
---------------
Total Estimated Family Contribution $7,930 - $8,930

Does this sound correct? I did the EFC on CC and it came out to be something different.

This is what the CC EFC calculator said:
Parent Contribution: 1,502.00
Student Contribution: 0.00
Total Expected Family Contribution: 1,502.00

There is a big difference between the two, and Princeton is supposed to be extremely generous right? Did I do something wrong? Which one is more realistic?

Looks about right for the Pton early estimator. It looks pretty generous considering that there are no loans. But I've heard Harvard and Yale don't make parents contribute anything if income is under 40K. I don't know how loans play into that though.

thanks, but if I apply ED, will I get something similar to the calculator still? This is really important--my school needs me to decide within the next week or so. Thanks!

Just like me :)

Princeton has the best fin aid program among all Ivies that's y I did not even bother to apply Havard or Yale beacuse

1) I am from middle class family in need of schools fin help and I know of Princeton's program - and Princeton did deliver!!

2) I am from DC area and dont wanna be too far away from my family- Princeton is only 2.5 hrs car-ride !

Go tiggress

P.S. Princeton also gives away all those MET opera tickets free !!
Boheme, Traviata, Lucia, cosi fan tutte !!!

Viva Princeton

That family contribution sounds pretty high for your income. You should probably call the financial aid office for a more accurate assessment.

Brown also has a policy similar to Harvard and Yale concerning the family contribution. I do, however, believe if the parent makes less than 20,000 they registar no contribution. I could be mistaken though. I am just conveying what a friend passed on to me.
