Does This Help Me???

I really like history and english so when I graduate High School I will have 5 Social Studies credits (3 AP) and 4 English credits (2 AP). I know that a lot of colleges like math (5 credits, 1 AP) and science (4 credits), but will they give any consideration to my many Social Studies credits? I will major in Political Science so its closer to my major.

Most colleges don’t consider your potential major as a factor to whether you get accepted/rejected unless you’re doing something like engineering where you won’t be apart of the main academic school-so the SS credits relating to your major won’t help you

BUT having chosen to use your electives for more challenging courses will probably look better

If colleges have a required number of math and science classes, they may well hold you to meeting that requirement. Some colleges require college courses in math and science in order to achieve a degree (and Poly Sci may well require a college statistics class) and high school math classes prepare you for those.
