Does this internship increase my chances?

Last summer (before junior year) I was an intern at Facebook HQ for part of there Human Resources, Diversity team. I basically spent the summer helping prepare for the launch of tech prep.

There were a total of only 17 interns for that summer (aka, the other applicants the same year as me), and none of them were in the department I was in.

Do you think that this internship will stand out at all, being that no one has ever done it before and due to being in a highly valued company?

I am applying to Stanford, UCLA, UC Berkeley, and more.

I think it is definitely something that will stand out, especially because it is for such a well-known company. It seems like a great experience to talk about in an interview/essay.

Okay thanks! I was looking for some feedback as to how it would be viewed.
Great!

It does stand out, I would think, but do not rely on it alone. It has to have had a transformative effect on you, and you have to have demonstrated interest in related activities as well. Best of luck!

So I should write about it in one of my essays to translate that right? It definitely does relate to my “core” interest, which is social activism, so I think that helps.

Yes!!!

Yes! It seems to be a real internship at a very prestigious company (super rare for high school students).
