<p>I've always been busy with programs in the summer and this summer I have a job at the U.S. Department of Education...It has nothing to do with my major but do you think this will look particularly good or just average? Thanks...I was just wondering</p>

<p>Well, getting a government job shows the college that you probably arent a slacking loser who can't pass a drug test. And it's better than bagging groceries, which was the extent of my work experience when I applied to Cornell. In terms of your major it probably isn't going to look quite as good as wiping the ass of some medical researcher or something, but with respect to general qualification, it's going to look very good for you.</p>
