Does this look bad on my transcript?

Does it look bad on my transcript if I have an A- (A minus) for the class in the subject that I want to major in, and I declare my major on my application? (I want to go to a top-tier or second-tier university btw)

I’m pretty sure an A- and an A+ appears as a 4 on your GPA (5 weighted) … so they would not even know the difference in the first place

Yea but my school uses a 100 pt scale, not the 4.0 scale, so on the transcript it would say the number from 1-100 and the letter grade next to it

btw have a regular A in nearly all my other courses

You’re overthinking this. If you have nearly all As in your transcript, your single A- is next to nothing – in your major field or not.

Assuming you’re applying to very selective schools, this won’t keep you out nor will it get you in.

Ok thank u

Is it bad if I have a 92 gpa freshman year, and a 93 sophomore year, and 95 junior year and 95 first semester of senior year, and a 2100+ SAT regular score, and 2 SAT subject test scores of 700+, if I want to apply to Columbia or NYU?

bumppppppppp
