Does this mean an acceptance?

My daughter received this e-mail yesterday:

Greetings from the University of New Hampshire!

Love UNH? Become a member of the “Class of 2014” page on facebook. Connect with others from what will be your UNH graduating class and get a taste of the happenings, news, events, and more at UNH. Follow us and keep up to date with UNH!

Is this sent to everyone that has applied? She is listed as ready for review online, but the wording of this e-mail is confusing!

It certainly sounds positive! If she is supposed to be hearing from them in the next few days, I’d assume they put the cart before the horse.

Best bet would be to call them and ask what the email means.

Check the email address and be sure it is a UNH address with “.edu” at the end. If it is not, I suggest forwarding it to admissions and asking if it a legitimate correspondence. I am hoping it is great news for your daughter!

My daughter got similar emails from colleges to which she hasn’t yet applied and to others from which she doesn’t expect a response until the new year.

I doubt it means an acceptance. They probably send it to all the applicants. It’s like some sort of publicy thing. But then again, that’s just my opinion. Good luck to her though!

Yes, I agree it is a marketing ploy. They are hoping your D will attend if admitted, so are offering social contact with others her age.

Nothing official has arrived! Must be something they send to everyone. Very confusing wording. I am sure many kids would take that email as a positive.

Just a kind of publicizing. I don’t really think this is a positive sign of an acceptance
