D first choice is Cornell. Likes the social sciences so thinking Human Development major in the college of Human Ecology looks interesting. Went to info session back in the Spring filled out info. sheet, etc.. Had SAT scores sent to Cornell. On SAT questionairre marked psychology or anthropology as intended majors. She's received unsolicited "interest" letters from both CALS & ILR but nothing from Human Ecology. Her stats are borderline for Cornell (1350 SAT's, top 5% in class, but math scores are a little low (640 SAT I, 610 SAT II)). I think her EC's & experiences (excellent leadership) match up better with ILR. Does receiving "interest" letters from one college & not another indicate whether they see you as a viable canidate at one as oppossed to the other, or would you think it's based on something else? Thanks.

no, the admissions offices for all of those colleges are done separately. ILR sent one out by default, CALS likely did too … why HumEc didn’t (or has not yet) could be for any number of reasons. The odds that somebody sat down and looked at her scores and “intended majors” and then made the decision to have CALS and ILR send out letter is slim and none.
