Congratulations! I am delighted to welcome you to the College of Letters and Science at the University of California, Berkeley for the spring semester 2010, which starts in January.

is spring admit bad? who got into spring? im so confused.

see the sticky above. This is not bad at all.

You got in, but you are a spring admit. There is however a Fall program that you can enroll in at Berkeley that essentially makes you a student except in name. It is called the Fall Program for Freshmen (FPF). You should google it for more info, and be sure to send in your deposit soon because the program fills up fairly quickly.

I was a Spring admit too and I remember feeling exactly the same way a year ago today. I ultimately did the FPF program and loved it. Feel free to talk to me if you want more info.

Hey Andy,
I got in as a Spring admit for 2010 too and I just want more personal info about FPF.

Did they have separate housing to the main campus housing? Was it hard being integrated into the main school when you came in the spring? Did it cost more since their funding is generated from the students? Any info. that you have I’m eager to read asap (so I can get my $100 deposit in!). =]

-Alyssa

I was admitted for Spring 2008.

FPF students get last priority on housing for fall. When I did it, about 60% of 700 got dorm housing for fall. You are essentially guaranteed housing for spring, as everyone who applies for housing for spring usually gets it. FPF housing is the same as fall admit and continuing student housing. It is very possible that you will have a fall admit roommate if you get housing for fall.

A good chunk of Bowles and Stern are FPF students. Ignore the ******** that Bowles is horrible; having lived at Bowles, Unit 2, and currently Foothill, I can say Bowles is awesome (I am actually going back to Bowles next year).
