I agree with raychul07.

I seriously refresh my email, and refresh cc, and refresh email again, and then cc again..... for the last hour or so.

that sucks :(

my point was (and to save my own sanity) that this email should be only for bay area or AROUND THAT AREA (be it 20 minutes or 2 hours) people.

hopefully.

:(

You people need to RELAX! I'm sure you guys will get in; just be patient and stop worrying too much. :)

well...i hope not to anger anyone but i have a theory on this email. My gf who has a 2110 and a 4.1 hasnt gotten this email and a few of my other friends with great stats havent gotten it either. I think UCSD is trying to gather the kids they expect will matriculate to SD to this gathering to cement the SIRs. I think they are not investing time in applicants who might have a shot at Cal or LA and focus on applicants who will most likely go there. My theory. Dont get mad lol

I agree with postalxservice, if you havent receive this email today then maybe you will receive one later and it might at a different venue

Please...link, anyone?

It sucks to be an out of state applicant. :(

I'm in-state with similar stats...and I got the e-mail.

march 31?..isnt that after we receive the letters?

i'm from the bay area (danville/san ramon)

and i didn't get an email

my stats aren't amazing, but they're better then some of those getting the email...

sat: 2090
gpa: 4.0

im from LA and no email. SAT 2320 and UC GPA 4.2 W. i got into SB honors and never got any emails from them. i feel left out. haha but seriously i shoulve gotten this right?

i swear it's because i'm asian.

for sizzzzles postal. i feel you.

I like flong's theory... although my stats aren't that impressive. Eh, whatever, I'm going to go do some homework and try to stop thinking about it.

I didn't get an email either... 1830 SAT, 4.3 UC GPA.

Like someone above said,

people with higher stats, i hate to say this, but it's true. It's true for all the top schools. If your ranked number 1 in your class or at least 1-10, not top 10 percent, like 1/whatever the number of graduates there are, then they already know that you applied to soem Ivy league schools and in this case Cal and UCLA are counted as Ivies. This happened to many of my friends. They all applied to Wash U with amazing grades, sats, and ecs, and all got waitlisted. The colleges don't want to waste their time admitting you, because then if you get into one of your ivy league schools, they know youll get in and don't want to jeopardize other applicants who would actually go and they have lower stats.

sorry guys. this does not mean you've been denied or anything, im just sharing basic news that i concluded on my own.

im really feeling Flong's theory on this one...its ringing truer with every post

has anyone with really good stats gotten this email?

if so, that kind of destroys the theory....

the wait is soooooooooooooooooooooooo long

i don't see why they'd invite you to a meeting if they don't intend on accepting you.

i bet this means you're in.
