Does this mean im accepted?

my stats are impressive on the surface (2320 SAT w/ two 730's on the SAT 2's, 4.2 W GPA) but i do have a spotty past which includes a rehab stint... i wish colleges could know where im really applying because ive got no ivies on my list. some are pretty close (amherst, tufts, vassar, barnard, northwestern, g-town), but i would truly consider absolutely each school im appyling to. if i am affected by this syndrome, i will be soooo mad.

it means you're in, but no higherish stat applicants have gotten it....hopefully that means we're all in too just not at that reception

i hate washu. i got waitlisted by them too :(

Yeah, I agree with sharptooth... someone with a 1650 SAT got invited, so I'm sure you guys with over 2000 on the SAT and decent GPAs are in

but why would they invite them to a reception after decisions?

hmm maybe cuz theyre in and theyll jsut try to sway them towards the school, routine really. I hope if we have decent stats and we didnt get this, like flong's theory, it means we have a shot at LA, etc. ( fingers crossed)

I found a link about the reception asking for alumni volunteers to come and persuade people to go to UCSD:

http://alumni.ucsd.edu/events/details.asp?evt=606

I'm telling you that's how it works. If you got 2200-2400 SATs and a 4.3, your definitely a candidate for UCLA or Berkeley. But, you better have some good ECs and community service and some interesting traits that make you unique and well-rounded.

And this says, acceptance letters have been sent to the students,

:)

~4.3 GPA
2220 SAT
770, 750 Subject tests

Got the email. However, I am from the Bay Area so I guess that's why I got it. I'm pretty this email was only sent to Bay Area applicants.

i wish i got this.

haha.

hmm virtuoso...strange ur like the only one...

i think the event is just for bay area applicants because if you click on the link it clearly says that it is for Bay Area students (so hopefully it is so b/c i still haven't received the email...)

Invitation to Bay Area Reception

I believe it is ONLY sent to BAY AREA applicants.

Just because you did not get one didn't mean you didn't get in. I'm asian, and I got the email...

2110 SAT
4.3 UC GPA
760 and 750 on SAT II

So I think its only for Bay Area students.

Could someone who received the email post up the RSVP link so the other Bay Area people who didn't get the email (like me!!) could check and stop going crazy? Haha.

The link that adzuki posted has put me a little more at ease, because it makes it sound like the event is only for Bay Area applicants

lol adzuki...i'm bay area too and I haven't gotten anything...=/ ...who knows...i'm so conufsed, maybe as you said someone can post the RSVP link?

I'm Bay Area... but not San Francisco... I'm east bay.

I'm not in the Bay Area, and I still got the e-mail...

I live like 2 & 1/2 hours away. :/

YAY AREAAAAAAA

ohhh like that? tell the people that 40 wata is back!

OC reporting here, no email
