Does this mean I'm rejected?

I sent my Loyola Marymount application toward the end of December and I received my MYLMU account e-mail a couple weeks ago. I know some people have already heard back and many say they heard a couple of weeks after they sent their application. I'm getting really nervous. Is it bad that I haven't heard back yet?

My stats are:
3.6 UW GPA and 4.0 W GPA
1940 SAT
2 AP classes
And MANY extracurricular activities, including community service and several leadership positions.

I feel that I'm above average for this school, but I'm still very nervous. It's one of my top choices.

I don’t think it’s a bad sign at all! My son applied in October, but regular decision, and just found out about ten days ago that he’s in. No worries!

Has anyone not been accepted yet???

we have almost the same stats and I got accepted with 9k scholarship so don’t sweat it! You’ll do great!

Thanks! But I feel like everyone has been accepted already. I’m so stressed out. It is more likely that I’m rejected at this point?

I understand your stress, ashleypants. LMU’s admissions process has been really erratic this year, with regular decision applicants getting accepted in two weeks, and some early action applicants deferred seemingly indefinitely. The stats for those admitted are markedly high for LMU, which makes me think that those students are casting their nets really widely this year, especially with the financial stress on California’s UCs. Maybe they are applying “down” a tier (to use US News speak) to see if LMU will give them tons of money. Even if they do, I really doubt they are going to turn down the more prestigious schools that will undoubtably accept them, and LMU will have ended up throwing away these crucial early spaces and the goodwill that goes along with them. The incoming freshman class will look a lot like recent years. You should have a really excellent chance. Hang in there, and don’t let their newfound arrogance (which was exhibited in their terribly ill-advised deferral letter and now in the regular decision process) turn you off too much. That happened to my daughter (deferred) and I think it’s a shame.

I applied EA, was deferred, and still haven’t heard anything… I have been indefinitely “Under Review” for more than a month now. 2210/3.8 W/11 AP classes/AP Scholar with Distinction & NMSF

idk whats going on with their admission process this year… they were supposed to be a safety for me and I’ve already gotten accepted into 3 other schools that are significantly harder than LMU. I honestly don’t know why I was deferred in the first place, but I guess thats admissions for you

I just got my acceptance letter today!

A relief has washed over me in an awesome wave.

For the people who got accepted, what were your stats?

It doesn’t mean you’re rejected. The only thing that would signal rejection would be a rejection letter. Other than that, I think you still have hope… And based on your stats, you really have nothing to be worried about.

Is the LMU acceptance letter arrive in a large envelope or a standard size business envelope?

D’s arrived in large size envelope.

Thank you elizabeth2000. A small envelope in my mailbox today and I know I will have a disappointed child when she arrives home. Praying it’s a waitlist. Congrats on your daughter getting in!
