Does this mean they've already decided to reject me?

On my online account for Duke, it says that the proof of citizenship part of my financial aid application is missing. That was about a week ago. I faxed a photocopy of my passport a day or so later. Right now, it still has that portion of my financial aid info listed as "incomplete," and Duke still has not contacted me about my missing financial aid info (I just happened to log on to my account a week ago and see that it was missing). The last e-mail I have received from Duke concerning financial aid was from January 21. On the other hand, Emory, where I have already been accepted, has sent me several e-mails about missing financial aid info and were very quick to process my materials.

Does the fact that Duke has not processed my additional info even though it's been a week, coupled with the fact that they have not sent me any e-mails about financial aid since January, imply that they have already read my application and have decided to reject me, or am I looking into this too much?

Thanks!

You can’t know for sure. Colleges look for different things for financial aid. UChicago, where I was accepted EA, never asked me for any additional financial documents, yet Duke (where I received a likely) sent me e-mails asking for a bunch of different documents.

You’ll know soon, anyway. Don’t freak out!

^ So Duke did ask you for missing info? Even though I am missing info (which I know b/c I just happened to check my account), Duke doesn’t seem to care whether or not they ever get it. I guess that means they’ve already made their decision about me?

Btw, congrats on UChicago. =)

It says that on my app too and Duke has not contacted me, but the due date is 2/28/2012 so I don’t think they’re in any hurry. I think it’s more important once you’re actually accepted…or for sure they would’ve contacted you.

I wouldn’t read too deeply into it  At least I certainly hope not.

Lol, stop stressing! There’s seriously no point in worrying about it!

I hope that the 2/28/2012 deadline is the only reason why we haven’t been contacted about the missing info! =)

Duke processing information is much slower than other schools as far as I know. Lots of our updated information took more than two weeks.
