Does this mean we can really submit a bit late? cuz i havnt started my essays... nojk

Happy New Year!

We're relaxing on this holiday before all the applications roll in. We hope that you get a little time to relax too and celebrate now that application time is almost over.

With students hurrying to finish and submit their applications, the Uncommon Application website may experience extremely heavy traffic. This may mean delays or limited access to the application. If you experience any difficulty, please do not panic.

Try again in a bit and don't worry if you need to submit your application a little late. We understand.
If you have questions about the online application, please send me e-mail at gdoyle@uchicago.edu. I will be up late most nights answering your questions and making sure that all is well.
We appreciate and value your interest in the College and apologize for the delays that you may experience. Good luck on your application.

Associate Director of Admissions

P.S. One of the last times that it is January 1st, 2005 is Baker Island.

P.P.S If you're mailing in your application, just be sure it's postmarked by January 1st. Or...

P.P.P.S. When is January 1st not January 1st? When it's January 2nd. Relax; it's OK if application submissions spill over onto January 2nd.

no point in not even trying, unless writing these essays is going to detract from your other apps. i doubt that they cut it off at a certain time. i'd also be surprized if the admissions officers even see that it's late, that kind of thing i would think would be done by secretaries. my advice: send it ASAP, and bear in mind that they know some post offices don't postmark their mail right away; i.e. if theyre closed on jan 1.
