Does this mistake RUIN my chances for Princeton, Williams, Bowdoin?

I reread my essay a million times, had 6 other people read it (including 2 teachers and my guidance counselor), and NOBODY caught this mistake:

"...it has also lent me a unique outlook set of ethics."

CRAP! I'm actually freaking out right now.

Should I contact them or do I just cry in a corner? Do you think they will totally reject me now??

:/ Context?

If whoever read it previously didn’t catch it, I doubt they will.

Sorry!
My heritage has also lent me a “unique outlook set of ethics.”
I then go on to explain how it has influenced me. My essay otherwise is really good, my teacher is even using it as a sample… WITH THE MISTAKE! :(

You’ll be fine…

Lemme see it.

Philovitist: I’m sorry, I don’t want to post my essay online. It’s really original and I’m always afraid that colleges are going to see it online and that would be WAY worse than this mistake!

Thank you ivykid96 and Aerobug, I hope so! It’s just I’m applying for scholarships to two schools and if they catch it, I’m afraid I’ll be out of the running right away…

I suspect a lot of essays are skimmed and not read completely as AOs often spend no more than half an hour on each application. Ironically, the more interesting your esay the more likely it will be read fully and the error caught. Nevertheless, as someone who has reviewed lots of written work, if the reader likes the essay they will forgive a small grammatical error. Do not lose sleep over this.

Thank you muckdogs07, I hope mine is interesting enough that they’ll forgive me!
