Are there any pre-med students at JHU who are international studies majors?

Or are there any pre-med students in the 5 yr MA/BA program in international studies?

Do the majority of pre-meds at JHU major in a science or are there people who are pre=med but majority in a humanitiy.

I doubt any premeds would do the 5 year BA/MA, only because it’s difficult to be accepted to, it requires another year of schooling and is, foremost, for people wanting to enter policy and diplomacy–not medicine. If you plan on going to medical school, I have a feeling you wouldn’t be accepted, given the nature of the program. That is to say, you’d be collecting a degree with no intention to enter the field. There are, however, premedical IS majors and premedical humanities majors.

I’m not too sure about the first two, but I know of a decent amount of students who major in humanities/social sciences, yet are still on the pre-med track, interested in medical school.

To give you an idea, I went to a pre-medical advising meeting tonight, (about 50 students or so attended due to the rainy weather), and when the director asked how many students were majoring in science-related fields, only half of the group raised their hands. :)
